About Nordic - The Early Days

Nordic moved to it’s current location in 2016,
but our foundations go back to 1989.

As a business, Nordic was originally formed in Andorra in 1989 providing flat pack furniture from Scandinavia to ex-pat residents. This developed into the comprehensive provision of furnishings for homes, hotels and businesses and included sales into Spain and France. In 1994 Nordic UK was incorporated to bring an exclusive range of user and environmentally friendly commercial strength cleaning solutions from Denmark to the UK market. In 2014, Nordic Products and Services Ltd was established – to include the provision of a range of engineering related training and testing. These services can be considered as two separate business units – Nordic Engineering and Nordic Specialist Cleaning and Coating.

Engineering Services

Nordic is recognised for their expertise across the Engineering sector, primarily supporting welder testing and qualification activities. This is predominantly in the North East, but with many multinational organisations sending people from throughout the UK and overseas.

This area of business has subsequently grown to service the ever-increasing demand for competent and work ready labour, thus the training team was established and has 4 full time trainers. This has led to Nordic producing over 5,950 welding certificates and placing over 450 people into employment (data from 2016). The success of this approach has enabled Nordic to subsequently deliver funded training to off-set businesses training costs.

Specialist Cleaning and Coatings

Specialist Cleaning and Coatings has been successfully trading now for 28 years in the UK anti-graffiti sector gaining a solid reputation for their expertise, knowledge and work quality from Local Authorities, Business Improvement Districts, Facility Management Companies and Construction Companies throughout the UK. A major and most recent achievement was being a strategic partner in supporting the delivery of a successful Commonwealth Games for Birmingham City Council with amazing reviews and testimonials from residents and visitors alike.
